Until we can find the time to create a blog about inchies, this will be our place to showcase different inchie projects, techniques and artists. One of the things you have asked about is how to use the new Lockhart Stamp Company 'inchie borders'.
That said, take a look at the following tutorial for step by step instructions
on how to make this inchie card utilizing an inchie border and masked image.
"Vacation!"
Inchie Note: card from blue/lavender assortment
Lockhart Stamp Company:
inchie border # 3037
Sand bucket # 3038
Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Copic markers for the background and edges
Prismacolor pencils for the images
Polka dot Inchie Paper from assortment pack
Organize all your materials.
Turn stamp so image is upright and ink with
Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
Firmly hold Inchie Square and 'feel' for edge of
rubber as you lower square directly to the surface of the stamp
and press gently.
Mask the stamped inchie border with Post It material just
covering the lower left and bottom sides. Place masking
material just on the very edge so that when you stamp
the image, it will butt up to the border.
Ink and press the sand bucket stamp.
Remove the masking material and you are all set to color!
When I am making inchies I like to make them in multiples; some will
be made into cards, some will get magnets to display on my Magnet Boards
and others will be saved for trades or swaps.
This image would be perfect in a small format scrapbook
about our summer vacation or even a mini accordian book
with tiny pictures and inchies!
Finish the coloring with Prismacolor pencils.
Complete your card by mounting a polka dot (or other coordinating) Inchie Paper
to the dark blue Inchie Note from the blue/lavender collection.
Then attach the decorated inchie!
Don't forget to use a .005 black pen to write 'vacation!'
or other summer phrase on your inchie!
Be sure and check out all the other colors of Inchie Notes!
Thanks again for visiting!
